The collection was inspired by The Empire of Light series of paintings by René Magritte. L'Empire des Lumiéres has been one of my favourite paintings for quite some time. I had the privilege of seeing two of the paintings, one at Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and the other at MoMA in NYC.
What always fascinated me with this painting is that - like with many other of his paintings - there's no fantastical or crazy element. It's simply night and day, at the same time. It's just weird to see the world shifted like that; and I find it quite amusing.
The idea behind the collection is quite simple: earrings that you can wear from day to night.
From brunch to club.
From park to dinner.
From work to drinks.
