Dinner and pillar candles inspired by the Banana Cover by Andy Warhol.

The candles are hand painted with a water-based and non-toxic acrylic paint.

Before Burning

  • Ensure the candle is secure and standing upright in the candleholder before lighting

Whilst Burning

  • Light the candle with a long match or long-reach lighter and keep your hair and loose clothing away from the flame
  • Burn the candle only on a flat surface and protect surfaces which may be damaged by heat or dripping wax
  • Never move the candle when lit
  • Burn the candle out of reach of children and pets
  • Always leave at least 3 inches between burning candles
  • Do not burn the candle on or near anything that can catch fire e.g. furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, flammable decorations etc
  • Avoid drafts, vents or air currents, as these can lead to rapid or uneven burning and excessive dripping
  • If the candle smokes excessively or an enlarged flame occurs, extinguish, allow to cool and trim the wick

Extinguishing

  • If you are leaving the room or going to bed, be sure to extinguish the candle first
  • Do not use water to extinguish the candle, this can cause hot wax to splatter
  • Extinguish the candle carefully by snuffing it rather than blowing it out
  • Do not touch or move the candle until the wick is no longer glowing and it has completely cooled

Please note that once bought, candle safety becomes the responsibility of the purchaser

Note

  • Artists’ oil-based/chemical-ridden acrylics are different from the water-based non-toxic craft acrylics.)
  • Many non-toxic paints may still contain less than 1% of preservatives, such as formaldehyde.
